Why should I pay someone to find me a house?

Simply, this will save you both time and money.  Frequent trips to France to view properties and to keep up to date with agents can be expensive, especially with a family in tow.  Registering with all the estate agents is time consuming and frustrating.  The chances of finding the perfect property for you during a single trip are minimal.  Not all estate agents have websites or advertise all of their properties.  Once you are back in the UK you will be forgotten.  We can also offer you a local knowledge of house prices ensuring that you do not pay an inflated price for a property. 

 

Why can’t I use a local English estate agent?

Any estate agent will only show you properties that are on their books.  This will represent a very small proportion of the houses available at any one time.  There are over 100 estate agents in the Charente Maritime.  We are independent of any agency and can show you a more varied selection.

 

Why do I need to pay a 500€ deposit?

This is to ensure that we only work with clients that are committed to buying a property.  We will only work with a very small number of clients at any one time.  Also, do not forget that this is refundable on purchase.

 

When we visit France can you arrange accommodation and transport for me?

Yes, we have a fully air conditioned 7 seat MPV.  We can collect and return from local airports as well as arranging accommodation.  A charge for this service can be quoted in advance.

 

Can you advise on the best villages and hamlets to live in?

Yes, we know the areas that are the quietest, or ones that contain bars, bakers etc.  We can advise on such things as areas that are likely to flood or that are likely to be busy in peak season.

 

Can we rent our house out?

Yes, we can help you find suitable lets whether it is for long term lets or for holiday lets.  Demand is high in this area for both types’ properties.  Rents are dependant on the type, quality, size and location of the house.

 

When and how do we pay?

The 500€  deposit is paid in advance but only after we have discussed your requirements.  Our fees are payable within 5 working days of the signing of the Compromis de Vente.  We accept cheques in both Euros or Sterling.
